Schlumberger's Sandstone Data

  • Schlumberger published the fits to many of their rock dielectric measurements in a 1990 Geophysics paper
  • Below is a summary of the fitted parameter representing the high frequency limit for the sandstone data
  • Some scatter would be expected from measurement error and uncertainty about porosity
  • While none of the results are outside the "absolute or Wiener bounds", the extent of the scatter indicates potential serious problems with this data

NOTE: This information has been shared with those at Schlumberger (Reza Taherian, Kambiz Safinya, Brian Clark, Philppe Lacour-Gayet). They had no corrections or alternate explanations.
